Montgomery Rehab and Nursing (MRN), a 60 bed nursing facility directly across from Montgomery General Hospital, provides short and long term care services to patients in need. The facility originally known as Montgomery General Elderly Care Center, opened on July 15, 1985. The name was changed in 2015 to reflect the ever-increasing need for therapy services and short term care needs. MRN offers skilled and intermediate care services, physical, occupational and speech therapy services, wound care, restorative nursing care, respite care, end of life care, dementia care and more, in a homelike setting.
The facility offers a large, attractive dining room and personalized activity program. A chaplain provides church services weekly and meets personal needs when they arise. The large central courtyard offers a safe haven for those who enjoy the outdoors. Residents and patients are able to enjoy beautiful flowers, a comforting fountain and participate in gardening activities. A wander guard system provides safety for those with dementia who may try to wander or elope.
MRN is convenient for those with dialysis needs and provides transportation to the Montgomery based dialysis unit. MRN also partners with Hospice to provide palliative and Hospice services to those in the final stages of illness or disability. MRN accepts Medicare, Medicaid, private pay and most managed care and commercial insurances.
We are conveniently located immediately adjacent to the Montgomery General Hospital emergency department for ease of access in an emergency situation.
